Abstract
In a total of 4000 appendectomies 302 cases of perforated appendicitis are reported. The rate of perforations amounts to 7,5%. The medium letality of perforated appendicitis amounted to 6,6% and increased with advancing years of age. Complications are analysed. Problems of treatment and prognosis are discussed.
