Abstract

A series of new 5,6,11,12-tetrahydroindolo[2,3-alpha]carbazole derivatives (3a-h) was synthesized. Treatment of 8-methyl-1-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole (1a) with phenylhydrazine hydrochloride in ethanol furnished the title compound (3a) in poor yield along with 8-methyl-1-phenylhydrazono-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole (2a). Better yields were obtained when 1a-h were treated with phenylhydrazine in glacial acetic acid. All the newly synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of IR, NMR, mass-spectra and elemental analysis and screened for pharmacological activities.

合成了一系列新的5,6,11,12-四氢吲哚并[2,3-α]咔唑衍生物(3a-h)。在乙醇中用盐酸苯肼处理8-甲基-1-氧代-1,2,3,4-四氢咔唑(1a),以低产率得到标题化合物(3a)以及8-甲基-1-苯肼基-1,2,3,4-四氢咔唑(2a)。当1a-h在冰醋酸中用苯肼处理时可获得更高的产率。所有新合成的化合物均通过红外光谱、核磁共振、质谱和元素分析进行表征,并进行了药理活性筛选。
