BACKGROUND
Ectopic pregnancy is infrequently encountered together with appendicitis. Since 1960, 21 such cases have been reported.
CASE
A 32-year-old, Hispanic woman presented with signs and symptoms of an acute surgical abdomen. Preoperatively, the diagnoses of both ectopic pregnancy and acute appendicitis were entertained. On surgical exploration, a ruptured appendix and an unruptured left-sided ectopic pregnancy were found.
CONCLUSION
The possibility of multiple pathologic disorders should always be considered in a patient with an acute surgical abdomen, especially during pregnancy. Evidence exists of a possible association between ectopic pregnancy and appendicitis in terms of a common pathogenic mechanism.
背景
宫外孕合并阑尾炎的情况较为罕见。自1960年以来，共报告了21例此类病例。
病例
一名32岁的西班牙裔女性出现急性急腹症的体征和症状。术前考虑诊断为宫外孕和急性阑尾炎。手术探查发现阑尾破裂和左侧宫外孕未破裂。
结论
对于急性急腹症患者，尤其是孕期患者，应始终考虑多种病理疾病的可能性。有证据表明，宫外孕和阑尾炎在共同致病机制方面可能存在关联。
