The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether multiplanar reconstructions (MPRs) of MDCT could improve local staging of rectal cancer.
Adding MPRs, on the basis of the MDCT data sets, provides definite improvements in the accurate local staging of rectal cancer compared with standard axial reconstructions alone.
