[Health conditions in Sör-Varanger during the war years 1940-44].

The author, who was District Medical Officer in the municipality of Sør-Varanger during World War II, has described the health status of the 7,000 Norwegians during these years of German occupation. Sør-Varanger is situated in the northern part of Norway and was close to the German-Russian combat zone. The municipality was heavily attacked by air raids. The population suffered from undernourishment and there were outbreaks of several types of epidemics.
