The effects of three dosages of dopamine (0.2-3.0, 3.1-8.0, 8.1-22.0 mg/kg/min) on diuresis were studied in 28 neonates with cardiopulmonary insufficiency. The relationship between the ability of dopamine to increase diuresis and an elevation of the lowered arterial blood pressure as well as the degree of acid-base condition compensation was revealed.
