Abstract
Pain can be something hazy and the way it occurs can make the practitioner doubt. Some toothaches are treated with root canal therapy or removal of the tooth (or teeth) when be etiology is myofacial pain dysfunction (MPD). This implies the need of a proper differential diagnosis between myofacial pain dysfunction and root canal pathology.
