Abstract
Eighty-one per cent of people say they would prefer to die at home. Several elements contribute to improving end-of-life care at home: an evolving society, ethical questioning, legislative changes, new methods of organisation, specialised and interdisciplinary training. However, this remains difficult. The private practice nurse provides clinical support and plays a major role in this care.
