Abstract

Effect of strychnine and bicuculline on responses of isolated spinal cord neurons of lamprey evoked by applications of glycine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) were investigated by means of intracellular perfusion and concentration clamp techniques. It was found that each blocker demonstrated similar effects on responses evoked by applications of both amino acids. Suggestion that glycine and GABA act on the same channel-receptor complex is put forward.
