Abstract

Dexmedetomidine is a highly selective α-adrenoceptor agonist that demonstrates anxiolytic and analgesic properties without inducing respiratory compromise, which makes it a suitable agent for procedural sedation and imaging studies. In our current case reports, intravenous dexmedetomidine infusion was used to provide sedation to 2 pediatric patients over more than 20 sessions of radiation therapy. On both occasions, dexmedetomidine provided adequate sedation without respiratory depression. However, the required dosage increased with repeated radiation therapy sessions.

右美托咪定是一种高度选择性的α-肾上腺素能受体激动剂,具有抗焦虑和镇痛特性,且不会引起呼吸功能不全,这使其成为用于程序镇静和影像学研究的合适药物。在我们目前的病例报告中,静脉输注右美托咪定用于为2名儿科患者在20多次放射治疗期间提供镇静。在这两种情况下,右美托咪定都提供了足够的镇静且无呼吸抑制。然而,所需剂量随着放射治疗疗程的重复而增加。
