To report an association between a Stage 4 full-thickness macular hole and focal choroidal excavation.
Case report.
A 46-year-old male patient with high myopia was referred for macular hole surgery and found to have an associated focal choroidal excavation. The patient underwent uneventful combined procedure with closure of macular hole.
Successful macular hole surgery can be achieved even in the presence of focal choroidal excavation.
