This study was designed to determine the global distribution of clonal complex (CC) 258 and IncFII plasmids with among 522 global carbapenemase (KPC)-producing isolates. CC258 (i.e., ST258 [clades I and II], ST11, ST340, and ST512) and ST147 were statistically associated with IncFII KPC-containing plasmids and may possess an epidemiological advantage over isolates that harbored non-IncF KPC-harboring plasmids.
