Abstract

A Gram-stain-negative, gliding and rod shaped bacterium, designated strain ZO2-23 was isolated from a seaweed sample collected from the West Sea, Republic of Korea. Cells are catalase-negative and oxidase-positive. Neighbour-joining phylogenetic tree based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain ZO2-23 forms an independent lineage within the genus Kordia. Strain ZO2-23 was related to Kordia ulvae SC2 (98.0 %, 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity) and K. antarctica IMCC3317 (97.9 %). The major fatty acids of strain ZO2-23 were iso-C15 : 0, iso-C17 : 0 3-OH, summed feature 3 and iso-C15 : 0 3-OH. The only isoprenoid quinone of the isolate was menaquinone-6. The DNA G+C content of strain ZO2-23 was 31.7 mol%. Phenotypic characteristics distinguished strain ZO2-23 from the related species of the genus Kordia. On the basis of the evidences presented in this study, novel species, Kordia zosterae sp. nov., is proposed for strain ZO2-23 (=KCTC 52268=JCM 31799).

从大韩民国西海采集的海藻样本中分离出一株革兰氏染色阴性、滑行且杆状的细菌,命名为ZO2-23菌株。细胞过氧化氢酶阴性,氧化酶阳性。基于16S rRNA基因序列构建的邻接法系统发育树表明,ZO2-23菌株在科尔迪氏菌属内形成一个独立分支。ZO2-23菌株与乌尔瓦科尔迪氏菌SC2(98.0%,16S rRNA基因序列相似性)和南极科尔迪氏菌IMCC3317(97.9%)相关。ZO2-23菌株的主要脂肪酸为异-C15 : 0、异-C17 : 0 3-OH、特征性总和3和异-C15 : 0 3-OH。该分离株唯一的类异戊二烯醌为甲基萘醌-6。ZO2-23菌株的DNA G+C含量为31.7 mol%。表型特征将ZO2-23菌株与科尔迪氏菌属的相关物种区分开来。基于本研究提供的证据,为ZO2-23菌株(=KCTC 52268=JCM 31799)提出新物种——大叶藻科尔迪氏菌。
