Root canal therapy is the primary method for the treatment of an infected pulp in modern dentistry. The main aim of endodontic treatment is the elimination of bacteria and their products from infected root canals. In this study, we attempted to investigate the antimicrobial activity of three root canal sealers against oral pathogens.
The antimicrobial effectiveness of three endodontic sealers with different chemical compositions, namely resin (AH 26), zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE), and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), against s, , and was assayed by agar well diffusion method (AWDM). The tested sealers were prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions and poured in the prepared wells of agar plates; diluted inocula (10 and 10 CFU/ml) of the tested microorganism strains were also used. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of the selected canal sealers ranged between 3.12 and 50 mg.ml against the employed microorganism strains. All the plates were incubated at 37°C under anaerobic condition for bacteria and at 30°C for After three days, the inhibition zones were measured.
In this investigation, AH 26 exhibited strong activity against with the minimum inhibitory concentration of 12.5 mg.ml, but ZOE and MTA did not act against . ZOE sealer had the highest antimicrobial activity against the tested bacteria, while MTA showed the lowest antimicrobial activity.
The ascending sequence of microbial growth inhibition zones was as follows AH 26 > ZOE > MTA.
根管治疗是现代牙科治疗感染牙髓的主要方法。牙髓治疗的主要目的是清除感染根管内的细菌及其产物。在本研究中,我们试图研究三种根管封闭剂对口腔病原体的抗菌活性。
采用琼脂孔扩散法(AWDM)检测三种化学成分不同的牙髓封闭剂,即树脂(AH 26)、氧化锌丁香酚(ZOE)和三氧化矿物凝聚体(MTA)对[具体微生物名称缺失]的抗菌效果。按照制造商的说明制备测试封闭剂,并倒入琼脂平板的制备孔中;还使用了测试微生物菌株的稀释接种物(10和10 CFU/ml)。所选根管封闭剂对所用微生物菌株的最低抑菌浓度(MIC)值在3.12至50 mg/ml之间。所有平板在37°C厌氧条件下培养细菌,在30°C培养[具体微生物名称缺失]。三天后,测量抑菌圈。
在本研究中,AH 26对[具体微生物名称缺失]表现出较强活性,最低抑菌浓度为12.5 mg/ml,但ZOE和MTA对[具体微生物名称缺失]无作用。ZOE封闭剂对测试细菌的抗菌活性最高,而MTA的抗菌活性最低。
微生物生长抑制圈的升序排列如下:AH 26 > ZOE > MTA。
