Abstract

Action of etomidate was studied in 219 albino rats 7, 12, 18, 25 days old and adult. Etomidate at the dose of 20 mg/kg i.p. led to a loss of the righting reflex in all age groups. Sleeping time increased with decreasing age up to the 12th day. Seven-day-old rat pups exhibited short sleeping time, approximately at the level of adult animals. Etomidate can be used for general anaesthesia even in young animals but the quantitative differences in its efficacy have to be taken into account.

在219只7日龄、12日龄、18日龄、25日龄的白化大鼠及成年大鼠身上研究了依托咪酯的作用。腹腔注射20mg/kg剂量的依托咪酯会导致所有年龄组的翻正反射消失。睡眠时间随着年龄的减小而增加,直至第12天。7日龄的幼鼠睡眠时间较短,大致与成年动物相当。依托咪酯即使在幼龄动物中也可用于全身麻醉,但必须考虑其疗效上的定量差异。
