Changes in oxidative stress and thiol / disulfide balance are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Our study investigates total oxidant level (TOS), total antioxidant level (TAS), oxidative stress index (OSI) levels and thiol / disulfide balance in pediatric patients with acute and chronic ITP.
Thirty four patients with acute ITP, eighteen patients with chronic ITP and thirty three healthy children (control) were included. TOS, TAS, OSI, thiol / disulfide balance were analyzed.
In acute ITP, TAS levels were lower than chronic ITP and control, TOS and OSI levels were higher than control, and native thiol level was lower than chronic ITP (p < 0.05). In acute ITP; disulfide level, disulfide / native thiol and disulfide / total thiol ratios were higher than chronic ITP and control, and native thiol / total thiol ratio was lower than chronic ITP and control group (p = 0.038, p = 0.018, respectively). TOS and OSI levels of the chronic ITP were higher than the control group (p < 0.05).
The results of this study have shown that oxidative stress increases in children with acute ITP and chronic ITP, that thiol / disulfide balance is disrupted in favor of disulfide in acute ITP, and that thiol / disulfide balance isnt disrupted in chronic ITP patients whose platelet count is close to normal and who dont require treatment.
氧化应激和巯基/二硫键平衡的变化被认为在特发性血小板减少性紫癜(ITP)的发病机制中起作用。我们的研究调查了儿童急性和慢性 ITP 患者的总氧化剂水平(TOS)、总抗氧化剂水平(TAS)、氧化应激指数(OSI)水平和巯基/二硫键平衡。
纳入 34 例急性 ITP 患者、18 例慢性 ITP 患者和 33 例健康儿童(对照组)。分析 TOS、TAS、OSI、巯基/二硫键平衡。
在急性 ITP 中,TAS 水平低于慢性 ITP 和对照组,TOS 和 OSI 水平高于对照组,而天然巯基水平低于慢性 ITP(p <0.05)。在急性 ITP 中;二硫键水平、二硫键/天然巯基和二硫键/总巯基比值高于慢性 ITP 和对照组,而天然巯基/总巯基比值低于慢性 ITP 和对照组(p = 0.038,p = 0.018)。慢性 ITP 的 TOS 和 OSI 水平高于对照组(p <0.05)。
本研究结果表明,急性 ITP 和慢性 ITP 儿童的氧化应激增加,急性 ITP 中巯基/二硫键平衡向二硫键倾斜,而血小板计数接近正常且无需治疗的慢性 ITP 患者的巯基/二硫键平衡未受到破坏。
