Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual (the John Dory; Chordata; Actinopteri; Zeiformes; Zeidae). The genome sequence is 804.7 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 22 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.72 kilobases in length.
