This study aimed to assess lateral spatial interaction (LSI) and radial deformity hyperacuity (RDH) in children with glaucoma and compare them with a normal control group. A cross-sectional study was conducted on both eyes of 16 participants (8 children with glaucoma and 10 age-matched control). LSI and RDH were collected in the same day. Children with glaucoma exhibited a lower interaction effect (F = 4.48; p = 0.035) compared to age-matched control children. Differences were observed in measurement conditions with and without flanks, except for frequency 0.8 cpd. Additionally, radial deformation hyperacuity thresholds were significantly higher for all stimulus conditions in children with glaucoma compared to controls: 5-point distortion (0.125 cpg F = 8.27, p = 0.007; 0.5 cpg F = 14.72, p < 0.001), 10-point distortion (0.125 cpg F = 8.15, p = 0.007; 0.5 cpg F = 8.15, p = 0.026), and 15-point distortion (0.125 cpg F = 5.92, p = 0.020; 0.5 cpg F = 9.98, p = 0.003). Children with glaucoma demonstrated a reduced spatial contrast interaction and higher radial deformation hyperacuity thresholds, indicating decreased information input to higher visual areas.
