Abstract
Saving the sight of millions of blind people in Developing Nations requires the development of an appropriate philosophy of blindness treatment and prevention. Guidelines are presented in this paper, emphasizing the importance of training national workers, using appropriate ophthalmic technology and promoting international cooperation of governments, development agencies, and mission societies.
