The radiologic differential diagnosis of radiolucencies of the base of skull is discussed by clinically and microscopically verified cases. For clarification of lesions in the base of skull tomography is frequently necessary. The specific diagnosis of these lesions is often only possible by angiography and consideration of the patient's history and physical findings.
