[The hyperostotic shoulder].

A systematic study of shoulder joints in 30 DISH patients demonstrates the frequency of shoulder involvement in this disease and its characteristic radio-clinical features. Radiological abnormalities observed in DISH shoulders are contrasted with those encountered in rotator cuff tears. However, both disorders can occur together, producing a "complex shoulder" syndrome. The most typical aspect of this is the presence of an osteoarthritic pseudoarthrosis between the greater tuberosity and the acromion which has developed from the subacromial enthesopathy.
