We investigated the renal effects of low and high concentrations of dopamine (4 and 10 microgram . kg-1 . min-1) in dog experiments. Dopamine increased renal blood flow, glomerular filtration rate, renal oxygen consumption and urinary excretion. These effects could not be antagonized by droperidol. In clinical doses both drugs rather act synergistically upon the cardiovascular system and renal function.
