Prerequisite for dealing with dying persons is the willingness also of the nursing staff to go into the requirements of the patient. Basic demands of a dying person are essential needs of the body as well as the desire for safety, love, respect and self realization. The dying patient has himself to be the center of all measures. Only by honesty towards a dying person and the dying itself fear and inhibitions can be reduced along with increasing experience of the nursing staff. Clinical talks and seminars can definitely help to succeed in this point.
