[The clinical picture and treatment of a positional compression syndrome of the neck and lower portions of the face].

Six patients with positional compression (PC) of the neck and lower third of the face are described. This condition, virtually never described in maxillofacial surgery, was caused by forced posture of a patient sleeping after alcoholic intoxication. Characteristic clinical signs of PC syndrome are described in patients with different duration and severity of the process. Differential diagnosis and pathogenetic therapy are discussed.
