Abstract
Only 47% of respondents to R&I's 23rd annual Job$ Survey reported satisfaction with their last raise--that's down 10% from last year. Leading reasons for the drop: According to survey verbatims, belt-tightening companies froze salaries and delayed promotions, but increased responsibilities. To get at the prevailing attitudes of foodservice professionals about their jobs, our special report employs demographic profiles and personal interviews.
