Medicare program; ambulance services--HCFA. Proposed rule.

This proposed rule would update and revise HCFA's policy on coverage of ambulance services. It would base Medicare coverage and payment for ambulance services on the level of medical services needed to treat the beneficiary's condition. It also clarifies Medicare policy on coverage of non-emergency ambulance services for Medicare beneficiaries.
