This Order establishes an exemption for certain electronic medical equipment from FCC regulations designed to minimize radio interference caused by devices that employ digital circuitry. The costs of testing for compliance with specific emissions limits would be severe and most medical equipment has characteristics which inherently reduce the likelihood of interference. The Commission in this action amends the rules to relieve the compliance burden.
