Seizures are very common in children and adolescents. Physicians dealing with young seizure patients should develop a well-organized and step-wise approach to the diagnosis, bearing in mind that other paroxysmal disorders can closely mimic epileptic seizures. Treating physician should become familiar with a few of the many anticonvulsants available and use them judiciously in selected cases.
