The special conditions in ambulant surgery in hospital require a preventing risk management to reach a security for patients which is comparable to stationary therapy. These requirements will be outlined concisely. At the example of organisation of ambulant surgery at the Ilmtalklinik Pfaffenhofen (Germany) a system of risk management is described. There defined running offs and developed checklists and their relation to risk management will be represented. In meaning of the authors risk-management is an essential part of general quality management.
