Yu Yue was a famous scholar in the Qing dynasty, who studied traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by himself. However, he was the first one that suggested the abolishing of TCM in modern times. His unfortunate individual experience and the influence of his times that he lived can both helped us to explain his different attitude towards TCM in different periods.
