It has been known for some time that stimulation of heterotrimeric G protein-coupled receptors can cause cytoskeletal reorganization. A recent report in Developmental Cell demonstrates that the activation of a tyrosine kinase, C-terminal Src kinase, by heterotrimeric G protein subunits provides the trigger for Rho-dependent actin stress fiber formation.
