Continence for adults with urinary dysfunction.

Urinary incontinence is a common condition in the UK. A working group in Scotland constructed a best practice statement focusing on: promoting continence awareness; access to toileting facilities; assessment of urinary dysfunction; and continence care planning. Response to the statement has been positive, but the challenge will be to translate this into sustained practice development.
