[reaction: see text] A highly efficient method for constructing heterocycles was achieved by phosphine-catalyzed tandem umpolung addition and intramolecular conjugate addition. This strategy offers a simple and promising method for constructing synthetically useful heterocycles under neutral conditions with high atom economy.
