Autonomy of patients is receiving greater acceptance in health care and prevention. Therefore, patients' and consumers' information attains greater significance.
The following study analyses the information in pamphlets on mammography aimed at consumers in Austria, in total five leaflets and two brochures.
The results show that the information given does not support patients' informed decisions.
The discussion lists reasons and shows ways to meet the challenges.
