There are two new computerized radiology literature databases available for those practitioners who require a more sophisticated retrieval system than the Index to Imaging Literature published annually by Radiology. The installation and use of these two products, the floppy disk based PC MASS and the CD-ROM based SilverPlatter Radiology are discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of both desktop programs are compared with the Index and to the telecommunication access of large general medical databases such as MEDLINE.
