A 66-year-old man presented with unilateral pleural effusion. Cytologic examination of the fluid revealed squamous carcinoma cells. The patient, who died 3 days after this diagnosis was rendered, had a history of surgically-treated squamous cell carcinoma of the penis. To our knowledge, metastatic penile carcinoma in pleural effusion has not previously been described.
