With increasing awareness of the scope of pelvic floor disorders has come development and introduction into clinical practice of new imaging techniques, with increasing importance of ultrasonography. Complex pelvic floor anatomy, the conceptual difficulty in the basics of some pelvic floor disorders, and the uneven standardization of ultrasonographic techniques were the impetuses of this review. The purpose of this study was to review the basic anatomy of the pelvic floor and the transperineal ultrasonographic evaluation technique and to provide an overview of the current clinical use of 3-dimensional transperineal ultrasonography in the evaluation of the anterior and posterior pelvic floor compartments.
A literature review illustrated with index cases from our center was conducted.
Ultrasonography has been widely applied to evaluation of the anterior and posterior compartments of the pelvic floor. Three-dimensional ultrasonography has a role in improving pelvic floor assessment.
Three-dimensional transperineal ultrasonography has been applied to evaluation of normal and pathologic pelvic floor anatomy. Practical application, through well-designed and sufficiently powered clinical studies, will establish the association between the clinical presentations of dysfunction with ultrasonographic findings.
随着对盆底功能障碍范围认识的不断提高,新的成像技术得到了发展并引入临床实践,超声检查的重要性日益增加。复杂的盆底解剖结构、一些盆底功能障碍基础知识的概念难点以及超声检查技术的标准化程度参差不齐,是进行本次综述的动力。本研究的目的是回顾盆底的基本解剖结构和经会阴超声评估技术,并概述三维经会阴超声在评估盆底前后间隙中的当前临床应用。
