Mating behaviour between different lines of Lutzomyia longipalpis (Diptera: Psychodidae).

Homologous and heterologous crosses were made between laboratory-reared Lutzomyia longipalpis. One line of insects originated from Para State and the other from Minas Gerais. Homologous matings showed that the two lines behaved differently before and during coition and that a mixture of the two behaviour patterns occurred in heterologous crossings.
