Abstract

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has become prevalent in logistics to support and optimize processes and numerous projects investigate its opportunities and challenges in the clinical context. However, most approaches are focused on one specific application using only a few possibilities of the technology. We describe the development of a smart object network to serve as a generic platform for various clinical services. Based on two disparate scenarios - tracking medical devices and transfusion safety - the architecture, implementation issues and prospects of such a platform are discussed.

射频识别(RFID)技术在物流领域已变得十分普遍,以支持和优化流程,并且众多项目在临床环境中研究其机遇与挑战。然而,大多数方法仅聚焦于使用该技术的少数几种可能性的某一特定应用。我们描述了一种智能对象网络的开发,以作为各种临床服务的通用平台。基于两个不同的场景——医疗设备追踪和输血安全——讨论了这样一个平台的架构、实施问题和前景。
