15 of 28 children with supracondylar fracture of the humerus, were treated with overhead olecranon traction and 11 with closed reduction and plaster splint. Two patients were operated on for vascular complications. The clinical results were excellent or good in all patients treated with olecranon traction. For three patients treated with plaster splint the clinical result was unsatisfactory, due to more than 15 degrees loss of carrying angle in the elbow. No patients had pain or functional complaints at follow-up.
