The paper describes a method and a device allowing to objectively determine the volume and stability of accommodation. The device is a refractometer having a stimulator of accommodation. The stimulation of accommodation can be realized by changing the distance in the eye system--the test-object, as well as by introducing positive and negative spherical lenses into this system. It is shown that this method is effective for selection of correction for near in patients with asthenopic complaints and a small volume of accommodation.
