Adaptive and compensatory reactions in the components of the fetoplacental complex depend on fetal metabolic needs, the maternal and placental blood flow, and the fit of the morphological structure to gestational age. There is a relationship of the adaptive and compensatory processes to the gestational age and certain histostructure. Fetal blood flow impairments are associated with the formation of umbilical pseudo-noduli. It is concluded that the pseudonoduli reducing peripheral resistance in the fetal circulatory system and fetal cardiac systolic pressure load show adaptive and compensatory reactions.
