A modified stapling technique for perianal coloanal or ileoanal anastomosis is described. The rectum is everted and transected at dentate line level under direct vision. Anastomosis is performed transanally and through the staple line suture of the anal stump, using the Premium CEEA stapler. We used this technique on five occasions without complications. It makes it easier to perform coloanal or ileoanal anastomosis and provides a better control of carcinomas than the other techniques.
