Sodium hypochlorite produces an indirect anti-aggregation action on platelets in platelet-rich plasma. This effect seems to be the result of the reversible reaction between platelets and products of plasma modification. High rate constants are characteristic of hypochlorite interaction with SH and SS groups of glutathione, as well as bilirubin.
