[Relation of the incidence of pain of the lumbar spine and the type of occupation].

An analysis of the frequency of pathologic changes and the occurrence of pain of the lumbar spine in persons representing such professions as grinders, welders, smiths and office workers has been made. It has been found that the frequency of occurrence of pain syndrome of the lumbar spine in the group of grinders and smiths was from 2 to 2.5 times higher than in other analysed-groups.
