In proximal combined nerve paralysis, many considerations are involved when a surgeon decides on palliative treatment. This article reviews when reconstructive surgery should be performed; how an impaired limb should be treated long after the time of initial injury; and the general indications of palliative treatment in proximal combined nerve paralysis.
