Osteoprotegerin (OPG) is a recently identified inhibitor of bone resorption. Recent studies indicate that OPG is also associated with endothelial dysfunction in diabetes.
To investigate the relationship between plasma OPG levels and urinary albumin excretion (UAE) in type 1 diabetes.
A total of 80 type 1 diabetic subjects and 40 control subjects were enrolled. Diabetic subjects were divided into a normoalbuminuric group and a microalbuminuric group according to urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER). Plasma OPG level was measured by enzyme-linked immunoassay.
The plasma OPG levels were significantly elevated in patients with microalbuminuria (176.39±25.05pg/ml) compared with patients with normoalbuminuria (154.73±16.66pg/ml) and control subjects (44.76±8.7pg/ml). The plasma OPG level had a positive correlation with patients' age, duration of disease, HbA1C and UAER.
Plasma OPG levels are significantly associated with UAE in patients with type 1 diabetes. These findings may support the concept that elevated plasma OPG may be associated with diabetic angiopathy.
骨保护素(OPG)是最近发现的一种骨吸收抑制剂。近期研究表明,OPG还与糖尿病患者的内皮功能障碍有关。
探讨1型糖尿病患者血浆OPG水平与尿白蛋白排泄率(UAE)之间的关系。
共纳入80例1型糖尿病患者和40例对照者。根据尿白蛋白排泄率(UAER)将糖尿病患者分为正常白蛋白尿组和微量白蛋白尿组。采用酶联免疫吸附测定法检测血浆OPG水平。
与正常白蛋白尿患者(154.73±16.66pg/ml)和对照者(44.76±8.7pg/ml)相比,微量白蛋白尿患者的血浆OPG水平显著升高(176.39±25.05pg/ml)。血浆OPG水平与患者年龄、病程、糖化血红蛋白(HbA1C)及UAER呈正相关。
1型糖尿病患者血浆OPG水平与UAE显著相关。这些发现可能支持血浆OPG升高可能与糖尿病血管病变有关这一观点。
