Patients with incomplete spinal cord injuries may face physiologic instability and functional uncertainty during the acute phase. Although the injury is incomplete, critical care nurses are challenged to accurately assess and rapidly develop interventions for these patients. Developing potential and actual nursing diagnoses assists the critical care nurse in preventing and reducing complications.
