We summarize the current knowledge concerning PPAR function in angiogenesis. We discuss the mechanisms of action for PPAR and its role in vasculature development and homeostasis, focusing on endothelial cells, endothelial progenitor cells, and bone marrow-derived proangiogenic cells.
