Somatostatin analogues in the treatment of the carcinoid syndrome.

Somatostatin analogs have been found useful in a variety of endocrine-related diseases. In particular, patients with malignant carcinoid syndrome benefit from their administration. A review of published data and a rationale for their use is hereby presented.
